Team
EXTRAQT is dedicated to implementing aquathermal energy as a sustainable heating source for buildings
That's why we guide governments and project developers in the implementation of aquathermal energy. From a feasibility study to a technical installation, you can count on our expertise at every step.
Meet the team.
Aquathermal energy first intrigued Stijn during a hike in Sardinia. He further developed this passion into his field of expertise at KU Leuven, where he is working as a lecturer in sustainable systems. Within EXTRAQT, he puts his shoulders to the strategic developments. Stijn also has a fascination for astronomy and enjoys a lively chat.
Sebastian graduated as an industrial engineer from KU Leuven. His thesis research on aquathermal energy led to the founding of EXTRAQT in 2021 together with Stijn and Jan. Sebastian is passionate about renewable energy, photography and hiking.
Jan is an industrial engineer, rolled into the world of aquathermal energy from his master thesis and co-founded EXTRAQT. Installations that spring from his screen and result along the banks of a river, that's what gets him going. Jan is also passionate about sports and music.
Tom graduated as an energy technology engineer at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences. Tom is a part of the EXTRAQT- team as of 2022, where he mainly works as a project engineer and also works on aquathermal-related software tools. Tom loves photography, traveling, Formula 1 and sustainable energy.
Joppe is an industrial engineer with a passion for software-driven technological developments. After two years of experience in aerospace, he applies his passion for technology in the world of renewable energy, together with EXTRAQT. Outside his working hours, you can find Joppe in the swimming pool, on the running track, or in Rillaar's Chiro classrooms.
Dries graduated as an industrial engineer from KU Leuven and became passionate about modeling surface water through his thesis for EXTRAQT. Because of his love for water and sustainable energy, he is currently continuing his studies in civil engineering. When he is not working on heat, you can find him on the climbing wall.
"We believe that life on earth is more fascinating than life on Mars. Our planet is unique but adversely impacted by humans. We want to utilize the blue energy of this blue planet and help saving its ecosystems!"
